Sven-goran Eriksson lost consciousness and fell to the ground during the Euro 2008 soccer match between Denmark and Finland on June 13, Beijing time. The medical staff arrived 52 seconds later with an AUTOMATIC External Defibrillator (AED). Such cardiac arrests are not uncommon at football matches. Would they be different if they could go back in time and have an AED next to them?
On July 2nd, a public benefit activity entitled "Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and cardiac defibrillator (AED) donation and use training" was successfully held in Xi 'an Public Transport Bus Operation Co., LTD. Group leaders, functional departments, fleets and warranty factories attended the ceremony and training together. This event was jointly initiated by WINNER Technology, The China-Europe 191 Charity Group, the Red Cross, industry associations and The Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions. It also meant the first deployment of AED in the bus transportation scene.
From the beginning of preparation, this public welfare activity planned to deploy AED first aid equipment in different scenes such as bus station, place, carriage and platform, promote AED into the bus scene, and continue to organize a series of professional training, so as to add another layer of security for public travel.
The training is carried out by combining theoretical teaching with practical operation. The trained physicians first popularized the basic first aid knowledge of CARDIopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to the bus staff and drivers, explained the essentials and precautions of each step of basic CARDIopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and AED in a simple way, and emphasized the applicable scenarios of CARDIopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the importance of AED in the golden 4 minutes for patients with cardiac arrest.
Subsequently, the physician combined with the successful rescue case, using the human body model to simulate a sudden cardiac and respiratory arrest, detailed demonstration and explain how to implement CPR and use AED.
Under the guidance of doctors, trainees take turns to perform cardiac resuscitation, such as chest compressions and artificial respiration, and use AED, so as to master the handling skills of emergencies, laying a solid foundation for timely handling of complex situations in the future.
